Here are some sets of directions that will take you right to the campground.

I’ve included a few different versions, depending on where you are coming from.

For the version for the people coming of the departure bay ferry I’ve chose the route with the fewest turns as possible for you.

From: Departure Bay Ferry

When you drive off the ferry immediately, get in the far left lane and pass straight through the traffic lights.
You are now on Stewart Ave
Drive 2.7 km to the end of Stewart Ave and turn left at the intersection. (Sign says Highway 1 South)
Drive 2.1 km and turn right on Pine St
Take second left on to Victoria Road
Drive 1.8 km and turn right on 7′th St
After 1.8 km 7′th St turns in to Harewood Mines Road
Carry on Harewood Mines Road for 2.2 km until you reach the intersection of Nanaimo Lakes Road
Turn left and follow Nanaimo Lakes Road for 3.6 km
Nanaimo Lakes Road turns in to South Forks Road
Follow South Forks Road for 4 km until road ends at intersection of Nanaimo River Road
Turn right on Nanaimo River Road and drive for 16.1 km until you reach the Timber west Main Gate at the end of the pavement.
This is where you will pay for your weekend
After the gate drive for approximately 4km
Turn left at sign that says “First Lake Campground”
After the bridge turn left
At the “Windy Point Campground” sign stay to the right
At the “Old Mill Campground” sign stay left
Follow the road around to sites 21, 22 & 23
After you have unloaded you gear please park around the corner on the “F Branch” road.

From: Harewood area

Get on to Harewood Road and head towards the army base.
After the intersection of Wakesiah Ave, Harewood road turns in to Nanaimo Lakes Road.
After 6.5 km Nanaimo Lakes Road turns in to South Forks Road
Follow South Forks Road for 4 km until road ends at intersection of Nanaimo River Road
Turn right on Nanaimo River Road and drive for 16.1 km until you reach the Timber west Main Gate at the end of the pavement.

After the gate drive for approximately 4km
Turn left at sign that says “First Lake Campground”
After the bridge turn left
At the “Windy Point Campground” sign stay to the right
At the “Old Mill Campground” sign stay left
Follow the road around to sites 21, 22 & 23

From: South of Nanaimo

Approximately 2.5 km after the Nanaimo airport watch for the sign “South Wellington Nanaimo Lakes”
Turn right on to Nanaimo River Road and keep to the right flowing the sign that says “Wild Play Bungy Zone”
follow the loop through the underpass and follow Nanaimo River Road for 26.6 km until you reach the Timber west Main Gate at the end of the pavement.

After the gate drive for approximately 4km
Turn left at sign that says “First Lake Campground”
After the bridge turn left
At the “Windy Point Campground” sign stay to the right
At the “Old Mill Campground” sign stay left
Follow the road around to sites 21, 22 & 23
